          his night  was restless. tossing, turning,
fighting his bed and body for comfort. moonlight shed
a soft glow in his bedroom, letting the phoenix see as
he wrestled with the pillows and blankets. at least, until
he caught a stirring jiyuna out of the corner of his eye.
caspian froze, belly down yet propped up with an elbow
as his other arm held still from fluffing a pillow. despite
it all, jiyuna still remained asleep. the younger phoenix
spent many hours laying in their bed many nights, simply
watching the rise and fall of jiyuna’s chest to keep himself
from going mad in total silence. that is what he came to 
yet again, laying on his side with the other facing him,
listening to the faint breathing. it calmed him. cas leaned
forward slightly, pressing a tender kiss to closed eyelids
in a silent thank you, even if jiyuna was unaware.
